Wicklow lifeboat launched to assist beam trawler involved in a collision in the Irish Sea

Wicklow RNLI lifeboat RNLB ANNIE BLAKER launched on a call out at 06.20am this morning (Monday 19th September 2011) to assist a Irish fishing vessel involved in a collision at sea with a large oil tanker about 29 miles East of Wicklow harbour.
Wicklow lifeboat launched after aircraft issues distress call

Wicklow RNLI lifeboat was launched just before 1pm yesterday (Thursday 15 September) after a pilot sent out a distress signal over the Irish Sea.
The pilot indicated he was going to head for the airfield at Newcastle, north of Wicklow harbour, and would possibly have to ditch his aircraft in the sea due to engine problems. The distress call was picked up by another aircraft and relayed to the Coast Guard.

Friday 13th callout for Wicklow RNLI crew
RNLB ANNIE BLAKER launched just before 0820am this morning, after a small fishing vessel with 3 crew developed mechanical problems South of Wicklow head. The lifeboat was alongside the stricken vessel by 0830am and a tow line was quickly established. The vessel was taken in tow back to Wicklow harbour and safely secured alongside the South Quay , the lifeboat then returned to Station.
Crew list Coxswain Nick Keogh , Mechanic Brendan Copeland , Ciaran Doyle , Lisa O Leary , Brendan Kaavanagh and Tommy Murphy.
Cancelled - SOS Round Table Challenge to visit Wicklow RNLI on Saturday 30th April
Cancelled - This event will take place at a later date
The RNLI Round Table Challenge relay will visit Wicklow RNLI on Saturday 30th April at 1-30pm. The Relay Challenge involves a large inflatable green bottle visiting the 235 lifeboat stations in the UK and Republic of Ireland with Round Table members. They visit each station and take photographs outside providing proof that they have been there.
Inshore lifeboat diverts from excercise to assist yacht. Wednesday 6th April 2011
The inshore lifeboat RNLB SHERINGHAM SHANTYMEN assisted a yacht with mechanical problems outside Wicklow harvour this evening , the lifeboat had just launched on excercise and diverted to yacht , the vessel was towed into the harbour and the crew resumed their excercise.

Latest callout - lifeboat crew rescue kayaker in difficulites near Wicklow Head
RNLB ANNIE BLAKER and inshore lifeboat RNLB SHERINGHAM SHANTYMEN launched just after 1pm on Sunday 20th March 2011 after 3 men in kayaks contacted the Coast Guard to say one of the party was in difficulties off Wicklow head.Coxswain Nick Keogh described the sea conditions in the area as rough with wind force 3-4. It was reported that the man had been in the water for a short period after his kayak capsized .
