RNLI Lifeboat tows in stricken fishing vessel

Wicklow
all weather lifeboat RNLB ANNIE BLAKER launched at 16-38hrs this afternoon under
the command of Coxswain Nick Keogh and 5 volunteer crew to go to the aid of a
small fishing vessel with 3 crew onboard which had developed engine failure off
the 6 Mile Point. Conditions on scene were described as Easterly wind force 2/3
with slight sea and good visibility.
The
lifeboat was alongside the casualty by 17-10hrs , and a tow line was quickly
established , the trawler was taken in tow by the lifeboat and brought safely
back to Wicklow harbour at 18-00 hrs
Alerted by pager the crew arrive at the Station
The crew don Jackets , boots and life Jackets and board the lifeboat while the shorecrew prepare to launch the lifeboat , within minutes RNLB ANNIE BLAKER under command of Coxswain Nick Keogh glides down the slipway.

RNLB ANNIE BLAKER tows the trawler with 3 crew onboard safely into the harbour , the shorecrew watch as the lifeboat brings the trawler up river , as soon as the lifeboat puts the trawler alongside the Quay , the shorecrew will recover the lifeboat and bring her back on the slip where she will be washed down , rehoused and made ready for service.
The lifeboat brings the trawler safely alongside the South Quay.

So far this year Wicklow lifeboat has launched on service three times assisting 6 people along our Coast.
