Wicklow RNLI lifeboat

 

2 shouts in one day

Wicklow RNLI were alerted by the Coastguard that a 12,000 tonne container vessel had went aground on the South India Bank off Wicklow , the RNLB ANNIE BLAKER was launched immediately and stood by as the crew of the ship attempted to refloat the vessel , while this was going on a second call for assistance was recieved , this time from a 12 metre trawler with engine trouble , her anchor was not holding and they asked for assistance.

RNLB ANNIE BLAKER  brings the stricken trawler into Wicklow harbour , the lifeboat returned to the container vessel and continued to monitor the situation until she was refloated later that night.

RNLB ANNIE BLAKER was launched to assist a small motor cruiser with mechanical problems in Wicklow bay , the cruiser with a man and 2 children onboard was towed back into Wicklow harbour.
